Welcome to the MDHS Library

As the largest and most active classroom on a daily basis, the LLC is the beating heart of MDHS' social and learning culture.

 

Library Staff

Students may borrow up to five items at one time. 

Students require their student cards to borrow materials from the library. 

Borrowing Periods:

  • Books - 14 days and can be renewed. 
  • Audio-Visual Equipment - 1 day

The Library printer provides black and white copies.

Students are given $2.00 of print credits at the beginning of the school year. Additional credits can be added by contacting library staff.  

Study Zones

The Library is divided into a number of areas. Choose the one that works best for your needs: Collaborative, Small Group, or Individual/Quiet Study.

Maker space area with tables and bookshelves of puzzles and games.

Maker Space

A fun place for hands on learning and STEM focused activities.

Kryptonian Corner

Take a break by basking in the sunlight, sitting in comfy chairs, and reading a wellness book.
Padded chairs surrounded by windows, plants, and books.
Desktop computers aligned along the wall.

Computer Lab

The library contains a large number of computers and a variety of other technologies that are available to all students.

Recording Studio

Book the Recording Room and specialty audio/visual equipment to create state of the art media presentations.

Student Expectations

  • Please do not eat in the library.
  • ​Drinks are allowed, preferably in a lockable container (thermos, drink bottle with lid​)​.
  • Cellphone conversations should be taken outside.
  • Keep your work space neat and tidy. Tuck your chair in when you leave. 
  • Be mindful of your noise level. Students are here to study.
