Awards, Bursaries and Scholarships
There are many scholarships available to students and the process of applying is an ongoing one. You may directly apply to most scholarships (some require nomination by the school), and the due dates are varied throughout the year.

Here are some helpful suggestions for beginning your search, along with some helpful website links. Please take time to go through all of the links, and set up profiles (where available) so that scholarship/award info can be emailed to you.
- Regularly check the bulletin board across from the Guidance office and listen to announcements for new scholarship announcements.
- Check community connections and organizations.
- Question parents/family/family friends for employment scholarships through their workplace.
- Do online searches for general scholarship information on websites like Student Awards and Scholarships Canada.
- Check your eligibility for OSAP (Ontario Student Assistance Program).
- Build a resume and include all activities, employment and volunteer work. You may always customize this list at a later date.
- Pay close attention to specific deadlines and requests for letters of reference. Give ample advance notice to referees.
- With notice, Mrs. Regan in the Guidance Office can prepare transcripts for you.

Students can go directly into an apprenticeship after high school. This requires an employer/sponsor. Students can go to technical training/diploma and then enter an apprenticeship. This is the most common route.
